Monica Cadena Is the Thread Running Through This Whole Weekend

Monica Cadena (@sacred.alchemist) appears at Spirituality & Beyond 2026 on both Saturday and Sunday. She opens the weekend, moderates the Lab Potency panel, and interviews Reggie Watts on Easter Sunday. She is not a featured speaker in the traditional sense. She is the architecture of the gathering itself.

Every gathering has someone who makes the whole thing cohere. Not by managing the logistics or running the production, but by holding a kind of relational intelligence that keeps the weekend from feeling like a series of disconnected events.

At Spirituality & Beyond 2026, that person is Monica Cadena.

She helps open the gathering on Saturday morning alongside Pastor Dave, Reggie Harris, and Xochitl Bernadette Moreno. She moderates Saturday’s Lab Potency panel: a conversation with Reggie Harris and Pastor Dave about what dosage culture gets wrong and how we measure transformation beyond grams. And on Easter Sunday, she conducts the headliner interview: a wide-ranging conversation with Reggie Watts on creativity, culture, and consciousness.

That arc, from the opening welcome through the Sunday headliner, is not an accident of scheduling.

Who She Is

Monica Cadena is known in Oakland and in the broader psychedelic and healing community as @sacred.alchemist, but her work extends well beyond her Instagram presence.

She is the Creatrix of Psychedelics and Sensuality, a framework and platform for exploring how altered states, embodied experience, sensuality, and healing intersect. She co-founded Wear Your Voice Magazine, an intersectional feminist media outlet. As a writer, she contributes to Lucid News and DoubleBlind Magazine, bringing an analytical, historically grounded perspective to questions the movement is still working out.

She is Afro-Indigenous, based in Oakland, and deeply embedded in this community. She is not a visitor to the Church of Ambrosia’s world. She is part of it.

The Sunday Headliner Interview

On Easter Sunday, Monica Cadena interviews Reggie Watts.

She approaches the conversation from the intersection of creativity and consciousness, with particular attention to what altered states and embodied practice have to do with how artists access the deepest parts of their work. Reggie Watts has an actual answer to that question. It is not one he gets asked in conventional press contexts.

This is an Easter Sunday conversation at a psychedelic church. The context gives both participants permission to go further than a podcast would.

Why Her Presence Here Matters

Monica Cadena is not at SB6 to represent a demographic. She is there because she is one of the sharpest people in this space, and because the gathering is genuinely better with her in the architecture of it.

The decolonial lens she carries is not a talking point. It is the lens through which she actually sees. That distinction shows in her work, and it will show in the conversations she is part of at Spirituality & Beyond.
